Creating engaging, beautiful designs for passionate clients.

Unadorned windows overlook the soaring peak of Mount Currie and fill our design studio with light. Nestled into a hillside, the airy space reflects both our personal values and design sensibilities: uncluttered and grounded, no-nonsense but focused on beauty.

A renowned writer of over 30 years experience, Leslie’s work appears annually in a range of outdoor, travel and general interest periodicals and websites in numerous countries and languages. The author of several celebrated books, his qualifications to write with authority and creativity on various topics include experience as a biological researcher, global ski-adventurer, and as a writer, director and sometimes performer in productions ranging from stage musicals to documentary films. While he enjoys a diversity of creative pursuits, he’s happiest when combining adventuring in wilderness landscapes with environmental themes.

His editorial “superpowers” include an ability to quickly grasp the big picture, identify a clean line through a messy project, elevate quality and aesthetics above information, and strike the right balance between collaboration and supervision.

Amélie Légaré
Founder, Creative Director

Spanning two decades, Amélie’s BA in Graphic Communications has led her from design agency and newspaper management roles, to orchestrating detailed photo shoots and design projects for a range of private, government, corporate and media clients—from tourism collateral to environmental reports to municipal communication campaigns. Also a doyenne of magazine creative direction, Amélie has designed publications like Flavours, Wishes and Right Sizing, and curates five separate titles for Mountain Life Media, with whom she has worked for 16 years. Her broad scope of work has garnered numerous awards and industry accolades—most recently a gold in Art Direction at the 2021 National Magazine Awards, and being one of three invited judges to select the NMA’s 2021 and 2022 Magazine of the Year.

Inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her B.C. home, Amélie’s passion for print, typography and photo reproduction are reflected in both her elevated visual design sensibilities and detailed work with clients. An avowed paper nerd, Amélie loves everything about the medium—from its smell, to its versatility, to its sustainable use. Known to enjoy press checks and visits from paper-company reps, her hard-earned knowledge of stock, finishes and printing techniques translates to an unheralded ability to manage suppliers, foresee potential issues, troubleshoot problems and, most importantly, deliver a product of exceptional quality on time and on budget.
